HOUSTON, TEXAS (June 3, 2024) – Ikon Science, a leading global provider of geoprediction and open subsurface knowledge management software and services, is thrilled to announce the release of RokDoc 2024.3. This latest version is designed to save time, enhance efficiency, and provide deeper insights for users, ensuring they can deliver high value sub-surface predictions with greater accuracy and speed.
In this release, rock physics model application has been refreshed for new functionality and workflow efficiency. Users now have the ability to apply rock physics models in both forward (predicting elastic properties) and reverse (predicting petrophysical properties) modes across multiple wells simultaneously. This multi-well support is a game-changer, significantly reducing the time required for wide-scale modeling and testing. Additionally, reverse modeling functions can now produce up to three properties simultaneously (e.g. porosity, saturation, and mineralogy) providing a more direct, comprehensive and consistent subsurface characterization.
In addition to the rock physics improvements, RokDoc 2024.3 introduces project start-up efficiency improvements. New multi-well options for Time-Depth creation allows users to rapidly import existing time-depth relationships for all wells, ensuring that data can be transferred into RokDoc without the need for recalculation and reverification. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for all platform users, making data integration smoother and more efficient. In addition to this, with the Interconnector, users can now easily transfer and sample “surfaces” from Petrel (SLB) to RokDoc with just a few clicks. This improvement reduces the time spent on horizon sharing and makes it easier than ever to start RokDoc projects.
RokDoc 2024.3 also includes several Pressure Prediction enhancements aimed at improving workflow consistency. The auto-refresh capabilities have been upgraded, and the Lithology Picker now features enhanced node management for shale picks. Additionally, the Normal Compaction Trend (NCT) function has been enhanced with new color-coding by Vshale, and a comprehensive Pore Pressure Fracture Gradient (PPFG) workflow has been developed to guide users through essential steps.
“We are excited about the new capabilities in RokDoc 2024.3,” said Alan Mur, RokDoc Product Manager at Ikon Science. ” The continuous advancement multi-well modeling options and 3D prediction will undoubtedly be highly valued by our users.”
