Rock physics provides the link between the rock properties that we are interested in, and the elastic properties that the seismic responds to. 

Rock properties include the lithology, porosity (and porosity system), pore saturating fluid (type, mix), fracturing and the rock’s present environmental conditions such as the stress state and temperature. These are the properties that we are interested in when exploring for hydrocarbons. We need to relate these to the seismic response that we measure between the wells in order to maximise the information we can extract from seismic amplitudes, this is where the power of rock physics becomes apparent.

Multi-scenario, multi-2D synthetic seismic modelling package for rapid generation of hundreds of geologically plausible models. Key features include: multi-2D modelling and attribute sections, lithology and fluid substitution workflows, ray synthetics including Q and spherical divergence corrections.
