Evolving Energy

Ikon Science is committed to supporting the energy transition, working to find cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions. Over two decades of geopredictive experience and expertise, enable us to guide our clients into the future of subsurface utilization. Our technology and services apply deep rock physics and multi-disciplinary understanding to assist clients in their transitioning activities.

The Energy Transition Landscape

The Energy Transition Landscape

We strongly believe that the transition to cleaner and more sustainable forms of energy is only achievable by partnering with others, bringing together expertise and experience to tackle technical and geological challenges. We partner with leading experts, research institutions, service providers and our clients, to overcome the challenges of moving into safe, sustainable and responsible energy growth. Currently, our technical expertise is actively engaged in numerous pioneering projects across the Energy Transition spectrum.

Our Software

Our RokDoc software contains a range of integrated tools and dedicated workflows to understand risks and investment decisions around storage capacity, injectivity, site suitability and integrity for carbon and hydrogen storage. Dedicated, easy-to-use workflows enable our customers working in these applications to image and predict plume behavior, build technical due diligence for regulator review, and address key risks associated with CCUS/hydrogen across geophysics/geomechanics and reservoir management and monitoring. We also have specialized workflows for determining the feasibility of High Pressure/High Temperature environments for potential Geothermal applications. Our Curate technology is designed to manage all data assets and results related to the subsurface, whether for exploration and appraisal or reuse for CCUS or hydrogen storage. All the disparate data across the organization can be accessed along with historical project and third-party database assets, to maximize the value of the knowledge within the organization for future transition activities.

Our Services

Our Services

We work with our clients to support their energy transition activities through a range of services. We understand the behavior of the subsurface over time and can help your team understand the risks and investment decisions in transition projects. • CCUS: Our team deliver multi-disciplinary services to characterize the physical and mechanical properties, chemistry and structure of the subsurface, to determine the feasibility of the subsurface, including storage capacity, injectivity, and site integrity. We can also predict, track and monitor plumes and geomechanical changes over time • Geothermal: Our team deliver feasibility screening of basins to assess geothermal resource potential, determine site feasibility and define parameters for safe and sustainable operations. • Other Services: There are other evolving solutions that we can support through our understanding of rock physics and geomechanics, such as over-field construction and feasibility studies for wind farms.

Knowledge Management

We can take your existing data, cleanse, augment and consolidate multiple databases, implement business standard formats and create a consistent system of record that can combine any historical or acquired knowledge into a single, searchable, collaborative environment. The value of this historical data can then be capitalized upon in future energy transition endeavors, reducing future acquisition costs and maximizing the utilization of those assets.
