Rockall Trough, West of Hebrides regional study

The Rockall Trough covers a significant area with only very few exploration wells drilled. Ikon Science is continuously analysing and interpreting wells and seismic data made available through the OGA. 

The following data are currently available for purchase either as individual data items, or bundles of data loaded into a RokDoc project:

  • Comprehensive deterministic petrophysical analysis for 16 wells spanning the Rockall Trough exploration area (LAS)
  • Petrophysical reports (.doc)

Other products coming soon include:

  • Single and multi well regional rock property trend analysis
  • 1D rock physics and AVO inversion feasibility analysis
  • Pre-stack Ji-Fi for selected 2D span lines

Mid-North Sea High regional study

The mid-North Sea High covers a significant area with relatively few exploration wells drilled. This is another area we are investigating, using well and seismic data that have been provided through the OGA.

Currently available for purchase is a fully loaded RokDoc project containing:
  • Wells (deviation data, checkshots, t/d conversions, log data)
  • Full stack and Partial angle stack (9, 16, 24, 31 dgrs) seismic data (56 2D lines)
  • 5 interpreted horizons (Seabed, Top Chalk, Base Chalk, Top Zechstein, Base Zechstein)

Well-seismic calibration for a Mid North Sea High well

Many of our regional studies provide excellent analogue datasets that can be utilised in the 29th licensing round

  1. Moray Firth rock physics study - A rock physics interpretation study and database
  2. West of Shetland rock physics study (Phase 1) - Rock physics and AVO analysis of 35 key exploration and appraisal wells across 6 UKCS Quads
  3. West of Shetland rock physics study (Phase 2) - Since the completion of Phase 1,many high profile wells have been drilled, requiring a second phase to integrate and assess these rock property profiles with those in Phase 1. Phase 2 includes three wells from Faroese waters
  4. Central North Sea rock physics with geopressure study - This unique study includes 35 wells from the CNS, and provides a current interpretation of the key pressure and rock physics mechanisms, which influence the seismic behaviour of key reservoir intervals
  5. West of Shetland geopressure study - Integrating data from 223 wells, including an updated assessment of exhumation in the region
  6. North Sea Central Graben geopressure study (Phase 1) - Illustrates the distribution and impact of overpressure on the region's petroleum system
  7. North Sea Central Graben geopressure study (Phase 2) - Enhances Phase 1 by integrating full 3D seismic coverage
  8. Central North Sea salinity database - Analysis of water gradients in the UK, Norwegian and Danish North Sea, for stratigraphic horizons from Eocene to Permian.
