The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the importance of pore pressure modelling with specific application to unconventional resources.
Traditional pore pressure modeling techniques will be briefly reviewed, recognizing the uncertainties within these methods with specific applications to well planning. Modifications for unconventional plays which add to the pore pressure challenges will incorporate petrophysics, rock physics, and cross-validation with geomechanics. The day’s learnings will be applied to four case studies showing cost effective, safe drilling, and practical understandings of overpressure and those implications for production modeling and completion strategies.
