Rock physics provides the link between those geological properties and processes as well as the elastic properties causing a seismic response. In this talk, we will discuss some introductory rock physics concepts as well as how a fundamental understanding of rock physics can be applied to maximise the information that can be extracted from seismic data, and how it can be used to enhance the hydrocarbon exploration workflow.
