May 4th 2017.  Fareed Mushtaq has joined Ikon Science as a Business Development Manager based in Kuala Lumpur and is to be responsible for Asia Pacific’s emerging markets. Fareed joins Ikon from CGG Jason where he was responsible for Asia Pacific’s Business development for the CGG Jason & HR software businesses lines.

Fareed said “I have 16 years of experience with the services sector in the upstream Oil & Gas industry and have worked with software and services companies including Landmark Resources, Roxar, SPT Group, Fugro-Jason and CGG. My primary focus has been on sales and business development in the Middle East and South East Asia regions and also managed major accounts like Saudi Aramco and PETRONAS in the past roles."

David Flett, President- Asia Pacific and Middle East added that “The addition of Fareed to the Asia Pacific team further adds to the region's capabilities to capitalise on the upturn in the business and move Ikon into all customers’ workflows. With Pieter Gabriels looking after Australasia and Linda Dewi in Indonesia, this will enable Barry Huffer to renew focus on Northern Asia and assume full responsibility for the China business, which is considerable”

Fareed will be present at Ikon Science’s Lunch and Learn which will be held on 11th May at Malaysian Petroleum Club where Mark Sams will be explaining how to set the correct expectations for seismic inversion.
