We are co-sponsoring the next Geophysical Society of Houston Rock Physics Special Interest Group on April 5th, where Yaping Zhu from Statoil will be discussing "Correcting Lithology/Fluid Effects for Pore Pressure Analysis". Zhu suggests that to correct for the lithology and fluid effects on rock properties (e.g., velocity and resistivity), you should apply lithology and fluid substitutions based on rock physics relationship calibrated to well logs.
