RokDoc-Pressure Prediction Modules
Overburden, Normal Compaction Trend and Shale

Overburden
Overburden
Default lithostatic and fracture gradients are often used without reference to how local geology can differ. The Overburden PPM integrates density logs from one or more wells to accurately determine overburden pressure, within a stratigraphic framework.

Normal Compaction Trend
Normal Compaction Trend
The Normal Compaction Trend PPM uses available log data to identify regions of higher than normal pore pressures (qualitative), as well as input values for algorithms e.g. Eaton, which estimate shale pressures quantitatively.

Shale Trend
Shale Trend
Pressure equations assume a continuous shale sequence. The Shale Trend PPM uses a Vshale log to determine the distribution of shale and sand layers in the section of interest, thereby allowing development of normal compaction and other trends in the data, which can be interpreted for changing pore pressures.
All the outputs from the Pressure Prediction Modules can be used as inputs for RokDoc-Pore Pressure Calculator.
