EM modelling in 2D

This application of RokDoc simulates the PGS Multi-transient Electro-Magnetic (MTEM) method applied to both land and marine environments for delineating hydrocarbon targets.  RokDoc-2D has the functionality to define a model, in the form of a 2D cross-section, in which each unit has a prescribed resistivity.  At each lateral position a 1D model is extracted and the earth impulse response function calculated for a number of offsets over a prescribed range.  Synthetic shot records and common offset sections may be viewed and the peak of each impulse response is used to determine an apparent resistivity.  Apparent resistivities can also be plotted as a 2D pseudo-section called the RTA (Real Time Appraisal).

Users may compare modelled and actual EM results with seismic data by using the opacity function in the 2D cross section.
